INAUGURAL FUNCTION
The 30th All India Major Ports Cricket 30th Weight Lifting & 32nd Body Building Championships was conducted at Visakhapatnam Port Trust from 22nd to 26th February, 2010 at Diamond Jubilee Stadium, VPT, E.Co Rly Ground, Hindustan Zinc Ground and Steel Plant Ground. The Weight Lifting & Body Building Championships were conducted on 22nd & 23rd February, 2010 at Rajiv Gandhi A/c Indoor Stadium, VPT.
The Championship was inaugurated at 8.30 AM by the Chief Guest Shri M. Ponnu Swamy, IRS, Commissioner of Customs, Visakhapatnam and Shri G V L Satya Kumar, IRTS, Deputy Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Trust and President, V.P.S.C has presided over the function on 22nd February, 2010 at Diamond Jubilee Stadium.
Guest of Honour Shri D Naresh Kumar, Secretary, VPT & M.P.S.C.B has briefed the activities of MPSCB and witnessed the occasion. Dr G Ramanjaneyulu, CMO, VPT; Shri K Ramachandra Rao, CE, VPT; Shri K R Sudhakar, CME i/c, VPT, Shri G S S Kumar, Sr Dy CAO, VPT; Dr K Satyanarayana Rao, DM, VPT; Shri D S N Raju, Dy CE, VPT; Shri S V S Sudhakar, Director, HRDC, VPT; Shri T Kishore Kumar, Administrative Officer, SAI STC; Shri T S R Prasad, President, Basketball Assn and other officials of VPT were the others to attend. |

EVENTS
CRICKET : The V.P.S.C is organizing the All India Major Ports Cricket Championship for the Sixth time (ie 1983-84, 1990-91, 1998-99, 2001-02 and 2007-08) Last time the Championship was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust. Mumbai and Visakhapatnam Ports were the Winners and Runners-up respectively.
A total of 9 Ports; Chennai, Jawaharlal Nehru, Kandla, Kolkata, Mormugao, Mumbai, New Mangalore, Paradip and host Visakhapatnam are participating in the event. The Championship is being conducted on a League-cum-Knock-out basis by dividing the Teams into three Pools.
The Cricket Championship is officiated by qualified officials of State Panel.

Last time the Championship was held at Mumbai Port Trust. Mumbai and Visakhapatnam Ports were the Winners and Runners-up in the Weight Lifting Championship and Mumbai and Chennai Ports were the Winners and Runners-up in the Body Building Championship respectively.
A total of 5 Ports; Chennai, Kolkata, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mumbai and host Visakhapatnam are participating in this event.
